Entrance Requirements
ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
- All general admissions policies as included here and found in the current handbooks on the web site will be followed.
- All documents for admissions must be in place before consideration is given to an applicant.
- New students will be required to take entrance tests appropriate to their grade and age for proper class placement.
- Specific criteria for admissions will be the following:
- Kindergarten students must meet current age level of development in areas of language, auditory and visual skills as determined by the screening instrument.
- Grades 1-3 must score in the 60% or 6th Stanine as a minimum on the designated standardized Reading assessments
- Grades 4-8 must score in the 60% or 6th Stanine as a minimum on the designated standardized Reading and Math assessments
- A student may be excused from the standardized assessments if they have results from current testing.
- All teacher recommendations, previous grades and testing will be considered when making acceptance and/or placement decisions.
- Students with learning needs or differences beyond the ability of this facility to provide will not be accepted.
- Some students may be accepted on a conditional basis if the admissions committee feels that the student has potential to be successful following certain guidelines.
